A wild hare, or European hare, is a species of hare native to Europe and parts of Asia. They are known for their long ears, which can grow up to 12 cm in length, and their speedy running ability, capable of reaching speeds of up to 70 km/h. They have a distinctive brownish-grey fur that camouflages them in their natural habitat. Wild hares are herbivores, primarily feeding on grasses, herbs, and other plant materials. They are also preyed upon by various animals such as foxes, birds of prey, and even domestic dogs and cats. Despite their name, hares are actually different from rabbits in several ways, including their larger size, longer ears, and different reproductive habits.
